Ghana has a rich history and culture, which is reflected in the architecture of its buildings. The iconic Africa Centre Complex was designed by Ghanaian architect C.K Danson-Smith with an aim to represent both modernity and tradition. It stands at 37 stories making it one of the tallest buildings in Ghana. This complex will be home to offices, shops, restaurants, apartments as well as conference rooms for hosting events on international standards.

The Africa Centre was designed as a new hub for business, commerce and entertainment for the Ghanaian city of Accra. It was to be built in 1985 by the Builders Consortium, a joint venture between Accra Leisure Ltd and local companies such as Orapa Investment and Agri-Hotel.
The Africa Centre was planned to be completed in time for Ghana’s silver jubilee celebrations in 1985. The plan was to build a 17-storey high building, in memory of Ghana’s independence from the UK. It was to be the first major highrise in Ghana and the tallest building in the country.
The construction of the complex was not without a few setbacks. The construction of the Africa Centre Complex was only complete by 1985 and it was named the Africa Centre Complex.
Africa Centre Centre Complex is located on a site at East Legon, East Legon, Greater Accra Region.

The Africa Centre Complex is set to be a landmark for downtown Accra and a highlight of the African architectural scene. The concrete landmark is decorated with glazed glass; a nod to traditional Ghanaian architecture, and a modern interpretation of an African cathedral.

Africa Centre Complex is an edifice on East Legon in the Central Business District of Accra. It serves as an administrative, commercial, retail and residential development, including 5-star, luxury residential apartments, commercial offices, a 5 star luxury hotel, offices, restaurants, shops, spas, conference rooms and car parks. It was designed by Ghanaian architect C.K.
The Africa Centre Complex is getting a makeover with changes to the facade, stairs, entrance, and services. The gym, pool and even the underground parking are undergoing remodelling to create the "theatre of the sky".
Africa Centre Complex is located on the corner of West Ridge Road and Akosombo Road, at the centre of Accra's most vibrant business district. The centre is owned by two highly reputed developers, Monico Developers Limited and Ghana Red Cross Society.
The construction will take 3 years to complete. The first three years, from now till 2016, will be for the construction of the foundation and undergrounding of the site. The second three years will be for the construction of the remaining structures of the complex. The Center will be a privately-owned non-profit educational complex, with about three million square feet for development and another eight million square feet for parking and other services.
President Nana Akuffo Addo and a group of executives from Sky Group, the company building the center said the "Africa Centre would serve as a trade and business hub for Ghana.
